Smart In-Grid Autonomous De-Icing and Line Assessment System
Request a meetingThe problem we solve
In winter, ice building up on power lines topples towers and causes widespread outages.
- Ice load on the line pushes the risk of conductor breakage to critical levels.
- Breaking ice by hand is costly, slow and life-threatening for crews.
- Micro-damage and hot spots on the line go unnoticed early, so major failures can't be foreseen.
- In mountainous areas without GSM coverage, lines can't be monitored remotely.
The system we are developing is a fully autonomous robotic platform that clears ice from 400 kV high-voltage lines without human intervention and monitors line health with AI support.
How it works
It lives on the line and finds the ice itself.
01
Draws its power from the line
Converts the live line's magnetic flux into electricity without contact; it needs no external power source.
02
Waits in sleep mode
Stays on the line in energy-saving mode while the weather is normal.
03
Wakes when it detects ice
Its sensors switch it on automatically the moment icing is detected.
04
Breaks the ice, scans the line
Moves along the line and breaks the ice without damaging the conductors; it crosses spacers on its own and detects micro-cracks, corrosion and hot spots in real time.
